The big debate "Do I need a Security Suite"
Anti virus software is required at minimum if you connect to the internet. If you connect via a broadband connection, you also need to use a firewall (hardware firewall, software firewall or both). If you do any business, shopping or banking online, or just browsing – you really should have anti spyware software. If you download anything at all (software, screensavers, clip art, pictures, etc…) you really need some form of adware protection.

New viruses, spyware, adware and hacks are introduced every day, and your degree of protection is only as good as the last update.
